We took delivery as a prototype before it went into production. Nine metres, tag axle, dual lounges — the boys at the back, us at the front. Croatia, Turkey, Morocco. This van did the lot.
Honest review
We were Swift ambassadors and this was the prototype of the Kon-Tiki 874 range — not a pilot, the actual prototype. We got the graphics on it before the NC500 and it went straight into proper use. The layout for five was as close to perfect as we have found: boys at the back in their own lounge, us at the front, mid kitchen and dinette in between. 9 metres, tag axle.
VB Air Suspension was one of the first upgrades we made — it makes a real difference entering and exiting ferries cleanly, where the long tag-axle wheelbase would otherwise ground out. With it sorted, the 874 carried us a long way: UK miles, Continental runs, and trips into Croatia, Turkey and Morocco.
The 874 is for families who want serious distance capability and enough space that everyone has their own corner. If you find one in decent condition and the layout fits, we highly recommend it.
