Rented from Cruise America in LA for fifteen days, Vegas, San Francisco, back down Route 1. The RV was huge, the roads were empty, and the boys thought the fold-down beds over the cab were the best thing ever.

We flew into LA and rented from Cruise America: LA to Vegas, San Francisco, back down the Pacific Coast Highway. The RV worked and, crucially, it didn't smell, which sounds like a low bar until you have been in an RV that does.
The cab-over beds were the highlight for the boys. The roads on that route are genuinely empty compared to what we are used to. For a hired van on a family US road trip, it delivered. We came back wanting to do it again, which is the honest verdict.
