Bank holiday weekend, scorching weather, a pub field in Great Missenden, and some genuinely exciting news to share. We had a fantastic couple of days catching up with Tony and Miranda, there was a hot air balloon, live music, and a katsu curry. But the real stuff we need to talk about is what Eddie’s been building.
The New Website Is Live
Going into our seventh year of Roaming Radfords, the old website was, let’s say, showing its age. I built it myself about six years ago and we’d patched it along the way, but it needed a proper overhaul. Eddie has spent the last three or four weeks building us something completely new from scratch, and honestly, I’m dead proud of him.
The headline feature is the Ask Steve section. Eddie had AI analyse our entire back catalogue, and we’re talking over one and a half million words from all our videos. So you can go on there, type in a question, and it’ll pull the answer from things we’ve actually discussed on the channel, in the way I’d actually say it. We gave it a test run with “what chairs do you use?” and it came back with the full story of our Coleman sling chairs, the fact we’ve had them since 2012, why we carry six of them. Spot on. Go and ask it something. Ask it anything, frankly, including the stuff people always ask in the comments. Someone will definitely ask about the drop-down shelf from the old van.
The interactive map is still there too, fully updated, completely free, with pins for campsites, restaurants, stops across all our trips. Click a pin and it pulls up the video from that location. Eddie has made the interface so much cleaner. Have a look.
There’s also a blog (bear with us, it’s just getting going), a full back catalogue of all three channels, a newsletter mailing list that Lyndsay’s going to run (one email a month, no spam, plus the occasional meet-up heads-up and exclusive bits), and a proper shop. The link is in the description.
The Summer Drop
Lyndsay has been working on the new merch range and we launched the Summer 2026 drop with this video. We’ve brought back last year’s palm tree design with updated colourways, and new for this year there are sweatshirts, which Miranda and Lyndsay were both wrapped up in on the Saturday evening despite it being the hottest day of the year so far. Classic.
The t-shirts come in a women’s cut and a unisex style. I’m in a 2XL of the unisex in the video. The sweatshirts run big, so Lyndsay reckons you could size down if you’re above a small. They’re in cream stone and black. UK shipping only for now, I’m afraid. We haven’t found a cost-effective way to get them out internationally yet and we’re not going to charge silly money for postage.
It’s a limited drop, so if you want one, head to the website sooner rather than later.
We’ve Booked the Ferry
Almost forgot to mention: we’ve booked the ferry to Santander. Summer trip is happening. Me, Lyndsay, and George are sailing over first. Harry and Millie are flying out to join us because she’s got something on the Sunday. So the band gets back together in Spain shortly after. Croatia is calling, I’d imagine, but let’s see where we end up.
The new website is at roamingradfords.com. Go and have a poke around, try out Ask Steve, and if it comes back with something brilliant or completely baffling, drop it in the Facebook group. We’d love to know how you get on. And if you enjoyed this one, give it a thumbs up and we’ll see you on the next one.
